Teaser Tuesday 03.02. 2015

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My teaser this week is from the book Bound by Flames by Jeaniene Frost, book three in the Night Prince series. I can not express how much I have been looking forward to this book! It was highly anticipated ever since I finished book two and realised that the story didn’t end there, and this far it has not let me down. I love Jeaniene Frost’s books, she is such a talented writer, and they always draw me in from page one, and I practically hold me breath until I have finished the book. Seriously, I am living and breathing this book right now.

She (Gretchen) blew out a sigh and then gave Vlad a speculative look. “It’s Szilagyi, isn’t it? He’s not dead after all.”

“Why would you say that?” Vlad asked, his voice dangerously silky. We hadn’t told her. Had one of his staff been loose lipped?

She huffed. “You’re Dracula, so everyone knows  your enemies don’t live long, but my dad and I are still locked up, so whoever’s yanking your chain must be the king of badasses. The only one person I know who fits that description is the same old vampire you couldn’t kill before.”

Vlad’s nostrils flared while I stared at my sister in disbelief. First calling him Dracula, then bringing up Szilagyi successfully faking his death twice? The nine pounds Gretchen had gained must’ve come from her new brass balls.
-Bound by Flames 15% in, Kindle edition.

I was pleased to learn that Jeaniene Frost will be writing a fourth book in the series. This is the third book. If you are interested in reading it (which you should be!) I recommend starting with book one, or better yet, start with book one in the Nighthuntress series, Halfway to the Grave. The Night Prince series is a spin off of the Nighthuntress series, and though they can be read individually, they are most definitely best enjoyed together. Like coffee and chocolate!

How did I miss these series? I’m vampire addicted and I do not know these titles… okay, of to Amazon I go, wonder how much is left on the gift card. Hmm. I will read these most definitely. Thanks for putting them on my TBR list. Great teaser.

I have no idea, but I promise you that you will love them if you like vampire books. Seriously, they are the best ones I’ve read, even better than the Black Dagger Brotherhood. One of my favourite things about them is how the characters evolve and actually learn by their mistakes, although it might take them a few times to have the lessons knocked into them. Be prepared to fall hopelessly in love though. Seriously, I warned you. And keep a bucket of ice water close for the infamous chapter 32. You’ll get the significance of that chapter when you get to it… 😉

  3. Hah! That last comment is awesome. The sassy voice makes me want to check this series out. Cool pick!

I like a confident character. This is a spin off from another series? I’m following one like that. I love going off and following other characters.

Yes, it’s a spin off from the Nighthuntress series, but you can read them individually. I can’t even make up my mind on which series I like the most, so it’s definitely not just one of those “woohoo, my series are selling, lets milk it for what it’s worth!” type of series. I hate it when they do that, because the spin off is rarely as good as the original, but this one actually is!

Great teaser! I’m not familiar with this series, but I love a good vampire novel! Thanks for stopping by my blog and have a great day! Cheers!
